This striking guy is Bob, a western screech owl. I met Bob at an open house back in January of 2007. He was rescued by a local raptor rehab organization and can't be released back into the wild.
This a small format graphite pencil drawing (ACEO - 2.5" x 3.5") Click on Bob to see the eBay auction.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this drawing will benefit Sarvey Wildlife Center.
Art for Critters was founded in 2006 by a group of artists from around the world who came together on the internet with a shared desire to help animals in need through an ongoing commitment of donating a portion of their art sales to help animal charities.
Every little bit helps as each donation brings another day of food, medical care or just a peaceful, safe night of sleep for some needy critter.
Thank you for your support!
FUNDS NEEDED TO REBUILD
CAST-A-WAY CATS SUSTAINED FLOOD
For many years, Cast-A-Way Cats (CAWC) has been one of numerous animal rescue charities that Art for Critters (A4C) supports with donations from art sales. Recently, we received a plea for more help than usual as their facility was just stricken with a devastating flood which displaced countless cats.
Rescue workers had been pushed to their limits with an overburdened facility as it was when the flood hit forcing the workers to attempt to house the cats in their own homes and apartments. It's become an enormous undertaking while they await funds to rebuild. Currently, they need $10,000 to rebuild and have requested assistance from A4C to not only spread the word but to make a concerted effort on their behalf. A4C members will rise to the occasion by offering more artwork for sale on eBay that will benefit CAWC directly.
We request that you too, kindly offer whatever financial help you can spare so that they can help save their cats. You can help by either purchasing some of the artwork offered by A4C members or by donating directly to them at Cast-A-Way Cats. We have requested photos of their facility to show the extent of the damage sustained in the flood and will be posting them here, although there may be a delay in receiving these images due to their circumstances but hopefully that won't hinder your willingness to help. On behalf of A4C and CAWC thank you for any support you can provide.
The Happy Act
WHAT'S THE "HAPPY" ACT ?
Families all over the U.S. have been forced to give up their pets because of financial hardship. H.R. 3501, known as the HAPPY Act (Humanity And Pets Partnered through the Years) would help Americans provide their pets with the medical attention and quality of life they deserve by making up to $3,500 of qualifying pet care expenses, including veterinary care costs, tax-deductible. This way, pets get to remain in their loving homes and don't wind up on the streets or in the already overburdened shelter system.
CLICK HEREto email Congress asking them to support the HAPPY Act.
$42,504 On behalf of all the animals who have been rescued, received a meal, urgent medical care, and a safe, warm place to rest their heads, we THANK YOU!

This Spring / Summer please be sure to purchase organic cedar mulch, often referred to as playground mulch, rather than the new cocoa mulch as it's been known to cause immediate siezures and death in countless pets and wildlife. Dogs are especially vulnerable as the cocoa smell entices them to eat it. Remember, buy organic cedar mulch for the safety of your pets, wildlife and children.
